Chkdsk question

XP xp3
I have a secondary drive (it has a boot partition on it but it isn't the
boot drive- it used to be on my old machine). I just put it in a year ago
to pull the files down and just never got around to taking it back out and
setting up the second puter on a KVM switch)

Anyway- the primary partition (first of 4 x 20GB) keeps needing to be
checked by chkdsk at boot up. it comes up clean as far as saying it found
no bad sectors...

What does this mean? I'm worried about the drive being close to failure-
but under disk management- it says 'healthy'....

Norton 360 is using a different drive for backup (concern that maybe
computer is shutting down during a write.

Could something have been changed in settings to shut down too quickly- as
in drives not finished writing... I forget where that setting is...

Thanks in advance
Paul
