chkdsk keeps returning on boot up

Hope you can help me.
I have a harddrive which has 4 partions. {C: D: E: F:}
All of a sudden, every time I boot up I get a blue screen
which goes through the chkdsk procedure for drive D: only
It finds no errors,says everything is alright.
Cant do a defrag on drive D: .
A message is saying that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on volume D:
I checked the task scheduler and there is nothing there which indicates a
chkdsk task.
Im running Windows xp home version and formateed for NTFS
Windows is on drive C:
Thanks to anybody who replies with a little help.
( I get by with a little help from my friends)
