CHKDSK does not start at system boot-up

Hi!

HERE IS A CHALLENGE FOR YOU - It's been one for me at least.

I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium on a Lenovo 3000 N100 (FPG768).

I've been getting the message that LogonUI.exe is corrupt and that I need to
run CHKDSK.
- I tried to run CHKDSK from Vista, but I got the message that I need to
schedule the running of CHKDSK at the next Reboot.
- I did that (several times), but CHKDSK did NOT run.
- I went to Scheduled Tasks and scheduled CHKDSK to run at each Reboot. That
did NOT help either.
- At the next Reboot, I pushed F8 and selected Run Safe Mode with Command
Prompt. I then tried to run the following:
* chkdsk (This only gave me the list of corrupted sectors)
* chkdsk /f (did not work)
* chkdsk /x /f /r /b (did not work)
- I then tried to run the HDD check in PC-Doctor, but the tests all
succeeded.
- I then tried to push the Lenovo Care button at system start-up; it loaded
the files, displayed the ThinkVantage start-up screen, but then rebooted
without giving me access to the Repair options.

So WHY is CHKDSK not running as it should, and WHAT CAN I DO without needing
to completely reinstall my computer? Is there a way to manually force CHKDSK
to run via the Boot Manager?
Thank you in advance for your help.

I have the same problem, and I understand that many others do also so
I am disappointed that there have been no replies. I have tried fixes
suggested elsewhere, such as a registry change, running in safe mode,
etc. I don't have a Vista disk to run chkdsk from the repair
console.

Thanks in advance for any additional help you can suggest.

Try opening an Administrator command prompt and run 'chkntfs /D'

After that try your 'chkdsk c: /f' or 'chkdsk c: /r' command again and
reboot. BTW substitute the drive letter you are trying to fix for
'c:'.

Wow, I have the same exact problem on a Lenovo 3000 N100. Tried all
the same measures, CHKDSK doesn't run. We need an expert.
