chkdsk always runs at start up.

I always shut down my computer using START and SHUT DOWN.
System appears to shut down normally. Everytime I re-
open or re-start the system I get the pale blue screen
advising to check the disk. I can cancel chkdsk by
hitting any key and the system will open normally....or I
can run the chkdsk program...and it never finds any
problems. This is more annoying and time consuming than
anything else. Any comments on how to resolve this
situation.
