As of last week, everytime I boot up my computer CHKDSK runs while displaying
the following:
Checking file system in C
The type of the file system is NTFS
The volume is dirty
CHKDSK is verifying files.....
CHKDSK is verifying indexes....
CHKDSK is verifying descriptors....
It generates a report that scrolls by too fast to read. Then Windows
proceeds to install successfully. It started running CHKDSK for every
start-up after I performed an incorrect shut down. I am running Windows XP
Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2. Is there any way to correct this
issue? I was concerned that there may be a hardware problem. Any assistance
is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
