Chipped Cartridges

I purchased a brand new Epson stylus C64 printer yesterday, and it's
the first time that i have had a printer that uses ink cartridges with
the ic chips on them. What i would like to know (as this is a new
printer and i havent seen any compatibles for it as yet) will there
be a problem getting compatibles for it? and do compatible cartridges
have the chips on them as i dont want to be stuck with using expensive
epson original cartridges.

Thanks in advance.

A true compatible cart must have a chip. The printer tries to read and
write the chip in normal operation. If a read does not retrieve valid
data, the printer will think that particular cartridge is not installed.

Compatible cartridges for the C64 and C84 probably won't be available
until nearer to Xmas because the design of the cartridge is different
to previous Epson cartridges. Our Universal Chip Resetter will reset
the chip on these cartridges and pigmented inks are readily available
for this machine also. More details at www.printerowners.co.uk and
select the Epson Kits from the Refill dropdown menu.
