Checking W XP and drivers for errors after new installation

PC/windows crashed (yes, my fault...) so I had to install windows once more
on my PC. I relied on using drivers I downloaded from the net (had no CD),
but they seemed so few - only four different, and one reported being another
version. Any program or other means to check if the installation is ok and
all the drivers are in place and working properly? My PC seems a little
strange with some errors now and then. For instance: Can't install Adobe
Flash Player or put on skins in Firefox. IE is performing strange (problems
with speed and buttons/icons on toolbar). Any tip on how to proceed? I'm
sceptic to error seeking and fixing programs I've tried so far (RegTOOL and
CC-cleaner). Is there a magic program or a good site I can use? Grateful for
help!

We do not understand this.
1. If WinXP "crashes" we simply reboot WinXP
2. If WinXP fails to start normally, System Restore will reload
from (our choice of) earlier good boots.
So what made you reinstal?

You will have to do a fresh install, in this order:
Do not connect to the Internet!!
Windows
The motherboasrd chipset drivers
Video drivers
Any other drivers required of the motherboard, sound lan,etc
Antivirus and firewall
Connect to the Internet and go to a Forum for your Motherboard for further
advice.

Thanks! - but are you absolutely sure I need to do that? I have already
installed it twice now with several other programs on top and getting a bit
grumpy here... Either I shoud stay far away from messing with computers or
this is the way I will become a good nerd (haha).

Is the internal order of driver-installations important?

It's a long story - I installed a program called LogMeIn to syncronize my two
pc's. I started the syncronization without choosing spesific folders. Then
both Windows installations got mixed up and I could not access any of the
computers. Tried all normal procedures. That's why.
