Checking for Conflicts

I know Device Manager checks for hardware conflicts, but,
is there a way to check for software conflicts and bad
registry entries ?

Thanks SteveL - I downloaded and ran RegScrub XP and it
cleaned up >250 problems.

So far, so good.
