check disk not working

I want to check my harddrive for errors and Check Disk
XPPro doesn't work. When I click on the box("Check Now..")
to run the Error-checking program in the Tools Menu of
the C Drive properties, nothing happens. Wad Up??
 
Go to either the Windows command prompt or click the Start, Run line and
type:
CHKDSK /F and hit Enter.
