I have been getting a very large amount of junk e-mail. One e-mail
that I keep on getting is
http://www.softhere.com
where you can buy the entire office suite for $50.00. I would like
to use this, but I thought I would ask here to see if this is legit?
Thanks

An old adage, if something sounds too good to be true it probably is. If
that's not enough to indicate it's bogus here's some clips from their terms
of service link (which actually brings you to their FAQs)
If I purchase any software from your site will I be able to get any
upgrades?
No, sorry.
No tech support is given by the manufacturer.
No updates.
Where is the serial number ?
Read SERIAL.TXT OR HOW_TO_INSTALL.txt OR INSTALL.TXT or (sentence ends here)
In addition, their contacts page has nothing except a link to be removed
from their mailings.
If you click to order something you get 3 options, Download, CDs (by
international aimail, though they don't know where you are nor say where
they are) or Download and CDs.
They accept only credit cards as payment, with no address to verify with
(unless they ask that after you enter the CC info and go to the next page)
You mention that they send you "junk e-mail." I'm assuming you didn't
request it (if you did I'm surprised your questioning if they're legit or
not) As another adage goes, "If it's Spam, it's a Scam."
I'd be wary of giving CC information to any company who's website supplys no
contact information and looks as nonprofessional as this one (they could
have at least put their text through a spell checker.) It could well be a
bunch of script kiddies out looking for new credit card numbers.
Just my take on it.
Best,
Bill
