Cheap fanless graphics card

Hi, i wish to replace my current GeForce FX 5600 with a fairly cheap,
fanless graphics card and was wondering whether anyone had any
suggestions? i don't really play many games, and if i do they are only
games such as the Sims! i do watch films on my pc though. Any
suggestions would be most appreciated!

There isn't much to choose from in the fanless category. A Radeon 9200
would be okay for Sims (only Sims 1 not Sims 2) and video playback if
it's not full screen. If the FX5600 isn't broken I would just keep it,
you won't find a budget fanless card that will be any better.

I'm surprised a card of that level of performance is fanless. I have a
evga 7300 GS and it has a fan and still runs a bit hot.

If you look at the comments it looks like most of the buyers of that
card are saying it runs hot and probably needs a fan.

Gigabyte makes a $50 pci-e and an agp version of the ati x1300 with
just a heatsink. Works pretty good for unreal tourny at 1024x768
remarkably enough. Has AVIVO support too. Will hold you over until
they finalize all the copyright protections and HD-DVD decoding
acceleration stuff.
