Charts in PPT 2003 change colour

I have been doing financial presentations including lots of charts (ie line
graphs, bar and column charts, pies, scatter plots, etc.). I need to convert
them for use in 2003 as not everyone has 2007. The problem is, when the
charts are edited in 2003 all the colours change, and sometimes also the
fonts! I've tried using non-theme colours and that seems to work MOST OF THE
TIME but NOT ALWAYS. All charts are done in Arial, yet many turn to Calibri
when converted. Is there a way around these issues? I'm talking 100s of
charts here!

Many thanks...

I think you should probably create the charts in MS Graph in PPT 2007
instead of using the native charting (which uses Excel 2007).

Part of the problem is the way theme color schemes work. There are more
colors -- two combinations of light/dark, and the hyperlink and followed
hyperlink colors are separate from the regular accent colors in 2007.

If you use MS Graph, you'll get the old graph color palette and the first 4
(accent) colors of a typical old-style chart. You can use Insert | Object |
MS Graph, or you can do a registry hack so that when you insert a new chart
using Insert | Chart, an MS Graph chart is inserted, not an Excel one:
