I am having trouble setting chart defaults within Powerpoint 2003. I can set
a default chart type with my selected colours OK, however, I can set default
options such as gridlines, data boxes, axis, etc. Does anyone know how to do
this as it is driving me mad having to reconfigure every chart!!

This should help you retain your remaining cranial hair:

MS Graph Custom Chart Types
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00278.htm

You have to create the chart you want, then when in the chart, right click
format chart type. In there, there is a tab for custom charts. Click add and
it will give you the option of saving the current chart as a custom chart.
Then select this as the default and in theory, when you insert a new chart it
should automatically insert the one you saved. Although I have had trouble
with this lately becaue it is not keeping all my colours in the colour
pallet. I need help on this too!
