Changing Word document to pdf

Hello everyone

I would like to save existing Word documents(I am using Word 2003) in pdf
format so that other users cannot edit them on screen. Is there some
functionality already available in Word to do this (I would prefer NOT to
have to purchase any aftermarket products to do this)?

You have to use something because Word won't do it on its own. How do you
feel about free aftermarket products?

* free(gratis) or almost free aftermarket products:
CutePDF, PDF995,... Google Is Your Friend(tm)

* Free(libre) office suite with integrated pdf functionality:
OpenOffice (http://openoffice.org) --> concerning pdf, this what you
wanted/expected from MS Office/Word. MS Office doesn't have it,
OpenOffice does.

I doubt MS Word will ever have pdf functionality in the near future,
because Microsoft has its own alternative for pdf called Metro, which
will be a part of Windows Vista (formerly known as Longhorn). ETA: late
2006 - knowing MS, it'll be more like early 2007...
