Changing the 'Wait' icon in excel

Folks

Whenever I run a 3rd party database add-in application it
takes a while for the whole process to compute. As it
computes, the 'hourglass' icon (or stopwatch for some)
appears obviously to remind me that the application is
still computing. Question: Is there a way to change that
default waiting icon (such as the hourglass or stopwatch)
to a progress bar?
