Hi. When I use this feature to compress my text, to make it visually more
dense, the bottom line of each paragraph retains default spacing. Clearly
this doesn't work for preparing a publisher's PDF printer file. How can I
fix this problem?

Thanks.

Which feature are you referring to? Line spacing? Character spacing?

Sorry; I see that was a most imprecise question.

I'm using full justification and autohyphenation.

I'm trying to compact the text, to reduce the excessive "whiteness" of the
page. Using both character and line spacing, I can achieve the effect I'm
after for the entire 200+ pages -- except that the final line of each
paragraph, which ends in a hard return, appears to have regained system
default letter and word spacing.

Obviously I want all lines to have the same appearance. What am I doing
wrong?

Thanks.

Dave

This is strange. Character spacing should apply equally to all characters in
a paragraph, assuming that it has been applied to the whole paragraph (or to
the paragraph style).

Note that, generally, justified lines look better if you enable the "Do full
justification the way WordPerfect 6.x for Windows does" compatibility
option.
