I have a usere who put a new drive on his computer and
managed to make it
(the active boot volume) E:
We have some software that needs to be loaded and insists
on being loaded to
C: (and looks for the System files there).
What hoops do I need to jump through to change the active
drive to C:?

Thanks

Brown

You can NOT change the boot drive letter.
You will have to format and reinstall XP.

What about using the old DOS "subst" command to create a virtual c: drive
that is a mirror of the e: drive??

i.e.; subst c: e:\

It almost worked, I wound up getting a "Path too long" error. But it got
further.

Hmmm...

I'm not sure why the path would be any longer, but oh well... guess it's
time to reload!
