Hi,

Anyone know how to change the white background to a different colour ?

I can't stand the bright white background when I open Word or Excel or my
email, it's giving me a headache.

Please help

In OpenOffice the background color can be changed to your liking. I imagine
you can do the same in MS Office. You can save the doc or spreadsheet in a
convenient place and launch it to open the program.

In Windows Mail you can choose a stationary and set it as your default.

thanks bob,
i actually meant it's with any program i use , i want the background for all
programs to be a shade of grey instead of this white that is blinding me.

i know i can do it at work , but that's using xp and office 2000 or 2003 or
something like that.

this is blinding me and gii\ving me headaches

Turn down the brightness of your monitor?

Yes Paul, i've done that too.

Does anyone really know what i'm talking about?
Do I sound retarded?

At work any program i open uses a light grey background so not to blow my
mind.

Without having to change the whole "them" of my vista loaded new laptop, how
can i do that here.?

Anyone?

Michael.

On your desktop, right click and select Personalize. Select Window Color and
Appearance. Select Advanced. In the Item list, arrow down to Window. Change
your color at the Color 1 list.

If it's really as bothersome as you say you'll do it with each program
individually.

I'm glad it worked for you. Thanks for letting us know.
I also have migraines and I started making this change to my pc's appearance
many years ago.
