Changing Sound Devices Shortcut

I have 4 different sound devices connected to my computer (for Skype a USB
speaker phone and USB headset, for music a traditional speaker system, and a
cheap mic for making draft voice recordings).

I have these questions:
- it is very combersom to go through control panel each time I want to
change sound devices. Is there anyway to put a short cut on the desk top
(etc.) to click to choose which device?
- I don't understand the difference between the Audio tab and the Voice tab
in Sounds and Audio Devices in Control Panel. I always make changes in the
Voice tab, but would like to understand the differences.
- it is very combersom to change volumes when you change a device. Is there
a way to set the default volume on a device? Remember, since two of the
devices are USB, they may unpluged from the system from time to time.

Thanks for your help.

Is there anyway to put a short cut on the desk top
(etc.) to click to choose which device?

Shortcut to Sounds and Audio Devices Properties.

Open the Control Panel | Right click Sounds and Audio Devices |
Select Create Shortcut | Click YES to the prompt | A shortcut
will be created on your Desktop

You can move the shortcut wherever you want.

Shortcut to Device Manager.

Right click the Desktop | Point to New and click Shortcut |
Type or paste the following line into the location box:

%windir%\system32\devmgmt.msc

Click Next | Type: Device Manager | Click Finish

Thanks, but I guess shortcut was a poor choice of words.

Even with a short cut, it is cumbersome to adjust the audio device and its
volume.

What I would like is something on the desktop (tool bar, task bar, etc.)
that represents each device and its volume, so I could easily change it.

Any ideas?
Thanks!
