Changing server

I have moved servers and am having trouble using FP to upload/update the
newsite.
I can get to the webspace using the ftp address they give me, but I want to
upload to the subfolder htdocs, but FP keeps trying to install in the root
directory. If I add /htdocs to the address it tells me there is no such
website and asks whether I want to create one.

The site exists as I was forced to use WS_FTP to upload while I tried to
sort out FP. What am I doing wrong?

You web host must associate your login with the correct path for FP to upload via FTP.

When you login via FTP for FP, the path must already be set to where you want the files uploaded.
The web host must set this path in the login script for your FTP account.

Are you sure about the htdocs location??

Your web is on an IIS server and to my knowledge IIS doesn't use a directory named htdocs.

Also clicking on the link to your site opens it but the url displayed in the address bar is:
http://www.jimscott.co.uk:80/
showing the port number isn't normal.

You might check back with your host.

My site was www.jimscot.plus.com (and will be for another couple of weeks)
and was actually uploaded to /htdocs on that site

Mt new site is www.jimscot.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk and when I uploaded it with
WS_FTP the index.html file was in /htdocs so that's where I put it. And it
worked.

The www.jimscott.co.uk is a redirection from a host (which has been or is
being redirected in the pipeline)
