You can change the font style/size etc by going to
Format | Style | Modify...and changing the Normal style.
However, it also changes the font used in the worksheet.
You can change the color by right-clicking the desktop and choosing...
Appearance (tab) | Advanced (button) | Item (3D objects)
However, I doubt if you will like the results.
