Changing RegisteredOwner and RegisteredOrganization in registry

Guest

Hello,

I would like to change the RegisteredOwner and RegisteredOrganization keys
in my Windows XP Home registry.

I have a book that says these keys are located in the registry at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

These keys are not located there. (I have installed SP2 if that matters.)

Also, when I search the registry for these key names, they are not found at
all.

Any help in getting these values changed on my machine is greatly appreciated.

Microsoft Registration: Start > Run and type: REGWIZ /R ,
and hit enter.

Hi,

you can input the keys yourself if you want. Just right click in the open
window and select new>string value, name one RegisteredOrganization, the
type should be REG_SZ, double click on it and put in your Org`s name, do
the same for RegisteredOwner as well.

Hi,

For??? If you are speaking of Windows, that is where they are located, SP2
and all (in the right pane). The values are there whether you registered or
not.

Are you sure you are looking at Windows NT (with a space) and not
WindowsNT (without) just a bit lower?

thanks for all the replies. I'm loathe to run scripts by unknown authors to
tweak my registry, though. In any case, I appreciate the help. I'll check
to see if I can get the source for these scripts. That way I can see what
they're doing and maybe even duplicate the actions by hand. If not, I may
just take the leap. thanks again.

Kelly's scripts are safe and good, but you can see what they do before
running them.

Thank you! And as you stated, each .reg or .vbs can be read before
installing. The instructions to do so, is clearly listed and defined first
off on my Tweaks page.
