Changing my themes

I have downloaded some themes from the internet, but
can't get XP to open them. The files I have downloaded
are Application type, and when I try to apply them to the
desktop, XP won't recognize them. What can I do? Your
help would be greatly appreciated.

more info...did you do this...........
in display properties wizard
desktop tab
browse button
find your theme
pick ok buttons.
check in themes tab if themes box has (modified) you need
to pick [save as] button and save the theme to file.
keep this file somewhere and maybe backup to diskette.
