Changing MailTo Protocol

I want to deselect Windows Mail as my defail program for MailTo Protocols,
however I am not able to deselect this file association through the Control
Panel and when I go through IE no other program is offered for MailTo
Protocols. I know that when I had an XP OS computer I was able to use Yahoo
for the MailTo Protocols. I want to use Yahoo for MailTo Protocols on Vista
is there any way to get this fixed?

I THOUGHT I had fixed my MailTo protocol issue but, I DIDN'T.

I only figured out how to replace Windows Mail with Yahoo mail as my default
Client on the windows Start Up Menu, but it is a bit glitchy. When I click on
Yahoo mail a new IE window loads nothing, while the current active tab on my
already open window in IE loads Yahoo mail, but at least it works. If there
is no IE window open, 2 windows open, one window that loads a blank tab and
the other window loads Yahoo mail.?

RIGHT click on an empty area of the taskbar.

Click "Properties".

In the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window...Click the "Start Menu" tab.

Click the "Customize" button next to the selected Start menu you are using.

In the Customize Start Menu at the very bottom of the window you will see
"Show on Start Menu",

Select from the drop down list the program you want to use for "Email Links".

I selected Yahoo Mail.

Anyone figured out how to change MailTo Protocols Yet?
