MAILTO Protocol

I'm using Vista and Outlook. Whenever I try to use an email hyperlink, it
always opens Windows Mail. I'd like to change my 'mailto protocol' and
'E-Mail link' from Windows Mail to Outlook. However, when I go into the
control panel and then "associate file type or protocol w/ a specific
program" the mailto protocol is listed, but it will not allow me to change
the associated program and I can't find the E-mail link at all. Is there
another way that I can approach this?

Have you tried setting/resetting Outlook as your default email program? You
can set it here (one place): Control Panel > Internet applet > Programs tab
