changing icons

Does anybody know how to change the icons by your clock
bottom right hand side the dailup icon & network icon are
the same need to change this keep disconnecting the wrong
icon. Thanks

You could rename each connection from the default of Local Area
Connection[n] to something more descriptive like Dial-Up Connection and
Local LAN. Before you close one, hover over the icon w/ the mouse to display
the balloon popup with the connection name. Might not seem an elegant
solution but it should do the job. I'm sure there is a way to associate a
different icon for the sake of differentiation, but the rename strategy
seems like a quick and dirty alternative.
