Changing how files are opened

Everytime I click on My Music folder to open it, my computer tries to open it
with VLC Media player. This happened after I tried to change the icon for
file folders. I went back into folder options to try and fix it but "open"
isn't an option on the list under Actions. To get to my music I have to right
click and choose open under the menu. I do I get My Music folder to open
properly?

If it hasn't been too long since the problem started, do a system
store. --

I did a system restore to before I changed the icons, but the computer said
afterwards that there was nothing to restore. I've noticed that its all the
folders that are doing it. When I right click "open" isn't bold at the top, I
just need to know how to get it to be the default for opening my folders.
