I've installed Windows XP on my computer to replace
Windows 98. Can I recover the programs, files, etc. from
Windows 98 and transfer to Windows XP? I can still see
the old files on the C-Drive.

Thanks

Hi,

Copy over needed files. Programs have to be installed, you can't just copy
them from the old system. You will need the original program installation
media.

You can recover data files and document files easy enough. However,
programs that you used in 98 may or may not work correctly in XP. The
programs that will work (such as MS Office for example) will have to
be re-installed in XP so that correct entries can be made to the
registry. Use your original disks.
