Changing from domain to workgroup

I have a network set up at home so all my computers can share my internet
connection, files and printer. I have a laptop which i use for work which
when i plug into the network can access the internet no problem. However,
when i tried to find my printer on the network it would not show up. All my
home pc's were in the MSHOME workgroup. My laptop was not in a workgroup but
a domain, i changed this and put it in the mshome workgroup, now when i load
up the computer and put in my usual username and password i get this message -

"the system could not log you on. Make sure the username and domain are
correct, then type your password again. Letters in passwords must be typed
using the correct case."

This is a problem as i need the computer for work but i cannot access it at
all right now. Does anyone know af any way around this or any way i could
restore my laptop to its original settings. Email me at
(e-mail address removed)

The only way you can log in is by using the local admin account & password -
but even this will not 'restore' anything. You need to bring your laptop
back to work and ask the domain admin to rejoin it to the domain. He or she
will need to know the local admin credentials on the laptop.

Note - you don't need to change to a workgroup just to access resources on
it. You shouldn't play with your laptop's network settings at all. Once
you've logged in using your domain account (using cached credentials), and
have an IP address on the home network, you can map drives, use printers,
whatnot, very easily - one way, in a command line:

net use x: \\computername\sharename /user:computername\username <enter>

Sorry, no email replies. Note that posting your valid e-mail address in a
newsgroup post, or in your news account settings, is a surefire way to get
spam and SWEN and other viruses sent to you....see
http://www.mailmsg.com/SPAM_munging.htm for help in the future, but note
that now that your address is out there, there's not much you can do other
than changing your address.
