Changing Field Properties

Hi,

I am importing tables from a database and then creating a query from them.
The fields of the query has to be in a certain format, and when I try to
change the field lengths in the table, that I have imported from the external
database, it does not let me change it. It gives me the error - "Microsoft
Access can't change the data type, there isn't enough disk space or memory".
When importing data from an external database, how can I change the field
lengths and other properties successfully?

It sounds like you have set up a link to the table rather than importing it.
But I don't think you want to change the format of the source tables but the
format of whatever your query returns.
