Changing Domain Controller IP address

V

Vicente Zambrano

Hello everyone.

What problems I'd find if I create a new Child Domain in
the same LAN where the parent domain's DCs are and after
that, take the domain controller of the new Child domain
to another LAN and change (off course)it's IP address?

More over, I'd like to enable DNS in this server.

What consideration should I have?

Any suggestion would be welcome.

Thanks for your help.

Vicente,

So long as you have full routing between the subnets you'll be fine. You
should create a site object in AD with the new subnet and once you move the
DC, assign it to that site.
