Child Domain Forwarding

Hi all,

I set up a child domain successfully, but have changed the configuration
since then and now it no longer works as I would like.

Initially, I set up the DCs in the child domain to use the DNS Servers in
root domain as their primary DNS...but i have changed this because I was
told you could.

I have since made the child domain DCs point to themselves for DNS. This was
ok..but now I can no longer search/add users from the root domain to groups
and objects in the child domain.

Without turning this all around, how can I search the root domain with my
current configuration please?

Solved thanks, can't add members from other domains to Global groups in
different domain eh?

on the ROOT DNS servers delegate the DNS CHILD domain to the CHILD DNS
servers. Point the CHILD DNS servers as preferred to themselves and as
alternate to other CHILD DNS servers. Configure the CHILD DNS servers with
forwarders be the ROOT DNS servers.

no it is not possible to add users from domain A to global groups in domain
B. Global groups can only contain security principals from the same domain
