changing default save from My Documents

When I download or try to save certain files, by default they open up
"My Documents" as the saveto location. Is there any way to
PERMANENTLY change this? I never, ever use My Documents and when
files accidentally get saved there, they are gone and lost forever to
me as I forget to ever check there. I have a regular directory
on my C:\ drive that I use for my default saveto directory ... how can
I make other programs default to that location instead of My
Documents? Thanks ... Michael Mauzey

Change default Internet Explorer Download Directory

Start | Run | Type: regedit | OK
Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
Download Directory.
