Changing Default Picture Editor?

The default picture editor for Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is MS Paint.
How do I change the editor to another program, so that I can select that new
program using the button at the base of the Viewer when I am viewing a
picture?

Hi John,
If one doesn't want to go through changing the registry settings, you can
right-click the editing icon and select open with...

I don't use Windows picture and fax viewer, so it might not apply but to
set Photoshop (or Paint Shop Pro, Animation Factory, etc) as default to
open... in FILE there is PREFERENCES and a place to check what file types
you want the program to be default for. It might be called 'file
associations' Like I have most file type associated with the photo program
I want to use, but have gifs set for Animation Shop (because so many are
animated) and video files set for WIN MED PLAYER.

Thus, you wouldn't change what it's opening with now, you would set it in
the one you WANT to open it.

This has always worked for me since I learned about it.
