changing default My Picture view program

Help, suddenly all my photos in My Picutures open with Adobe Photoshop Album
Starter Edition 3. I liked them in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, it is
much faster and I don't have to wait for them to load.
Without having to adjust each one manually (right click, Open with....) how
do I put Windows Viewer back as the default and does anyone have a clue how
Adobe got there and how I can stop it happening again?
Thanks heaps

This has happened to me too.
Go to My Computer and select Tools>Folder Options>File Types.
Find the extension you want to change (JPEG for example).
Use the change option to select a different program .
(try Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, I think that's the default program).
You may have to do this for other extensions as well (jpg, jpe, gif, png,
etc).

This probably happened to you when you installed a program that asked you
during installation to allow the new program to automatically open certain
types of files. Normally you can opt out by unchecking the option during
installation.

Have a look at this article:

(307859) HOW TO: Change File Associations
in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307859

More info:

Try this...open an image folder and right click one
of your image files...from the menu, select...Open
With / Choose Program.

Make your choice from the list or Browse to the
correct program if it is not in the list.

If you want the default...choose..."Windows
Picture and Fax viewer"

Once you make your selection...be sure to check
the box that says: "Always use the selected program
to open this kind of file". (you will need to do this
for each format....jpg, .tif, .gif...etc.)

Also...you can right click an image and choose
Properties / Change Button...choose the program
you wish to use and click...OK / Apply / OK.

Also...in WinXP, you can go to...My Computer /
Tools / Folder Options / File Types tab...

Thank you so much, all fixed - too easy! I had been to that section, but it
took forever to find them so I hadn't waited....
Should read those boxes when installing things! Must have been when I
updated Adobe the other day.
THanks again
