changing default font and line sp

tried changing default font and line spacing using tab boxes (eg font tab,
(changed size and style, clicked default then yes) but it didn't work. ditto
for changing default line spacing

Have you tried using the Set Defaults tab of the Manage Styles dialog
(accessible from the Styles task pane)?
