Changing computer name

Misha

I have changed the name of my computer sucessfully; however, the old name is
still appearing on the network. How do I remove this?

Hi Misha,

I am certainly no expert, but...

It may just be a matter of time. I believe that the systems
periodically "scan" to see which systems are on the lan. The
next time they scan, they should see your system with its
new name.

Give it a few hours.

I may be totally wrong on this, but, if so, others who
actually understand this stuff will help.
