Old Computer Names Persist

I recently replaced a WIN98 computer in a 5 node peer-to-peer network with a
WINXP Profrssional system. In the process I changed the Computer
description of one of the other computers. However the old computer
description still presists in the mapped network drives on a WINXP Home
Edition system even if I disconnect and remap the network drives. Is there
some way to force a refresh of the network neighborhood names?

In general, computers removed from a workgroup vanish after a short period
of time. To hasten the vanishing act, shut down all PCs at the same time
and then start them up again. You may also need to delete any shortcuts you
have created to the missing computer in Network Places, desktop, etc.
