Changing/combining accounts

I have many accounts in BCM (mainly within the health service in the UK).
Many of these have business contacts and history items 'attached'. There has
recently been a reorgansiation in the health service so that say Account A &
B have combined to create account C.

I now need to create Account C and would like to delete Accounts A & B as
these are no longer current. However I do not want to lose the history items
linked to Accounts A & B, and the relevant business contacts. Is there a way
of making sure that the histrory remains in tact though it is now linked to
the new Account C?

Thanks

Hi JMGreen,

By design of bcm, all history items in an account where rolled up from a
linked contact will be remove/moved once the contact with those history items
is changed from the account.

However, if the accounts in question have items directly linked to them (not
rolled up from accounts) you will have to manually add them to your new
account.

Thanks for this.
Let me clarify - so for instance - if I have a history item that is rolled
up from a contact and the individual leaves the organisation - if I delete
their contact the history in the account will also be removed.

So when linking items I need to link to a contact and at the same time an
account. (Which will give me the same item showing twice in the account
history - once in respect of the contact and once in respect of the account).
By doing so if I delete the contact then the history will still remain in
the account.

If I have understood this correctly this is a nightmare as it will require
me to re-link hundreds of items to accounts before deleting the contacts that
have left/joined a re-formatted organisation.

Is there a way of linking multiple items to accounts in one go?
