Changing Accounts on Outlook 2000

Bill

On Outlook 2000 on Win98SE, I've got three accounts set up:

Email1 (default)
Email2
Email3

(actually, there are 11 accounts, this is to make the example easier)

I just deleted Email2, and I'm now using Email3 (a new account) as the
replacement.

However, when I reply to LEGACY messages in folders, it now responds with
the DEFAULT account, Email1. So I have to go thru & make sure that it is set
to the correct account, which may or may not be Email1 or Email3. Certainly
time consuming & a pain in the butt.

Of course, I've notified people of the address change, but it's replying to
Outlook emails sent before today that has me concerned.

How do I tell Outlook 2000 to REPLY to Email2 emails ONLY with the Email3
account???

THANKS

You can't. Outlook has no way of knowing what you want to do with the Email2
messages. What you could have done is keep Email2, set it with a bad
password so it won't receive anything, and change the account details for
sending to those for Email3. In fact, you could still try that, adding an
account with the same name as Email2.

O.K., I set up Email2 again, and Outlook 2000 recognizes it (again!) when I
reply to Email2 emails.

Now, I've set the reply-to on Email2 to the Email3 address, but I can't
really see how I can change the Email2 account details for sending to those
for Email3. I can set the outgoing mail server to smtp.email3.com, but I'm
not sure how to specifically set it up to use the Email3 address.

Thanks so much,

Bill.
