I had Windows XP installed on a new machine. The supplier entered my name as "Micahel" as the Administrator. So in the Documents and Settings folder I have "All Users" - "Default Users" and "Micahel". If I try to change "Micahel" to "Michael" I get the message "Micahel is a Windows system folder & is required for Windows to run properly. It can't be renamed or moved"

I can change my name in the User Accounts through Control Panel but Micahel remains in the Explorer page.

Any way it can be changed?

Michael;
The easiest way is to create a new profile and copy the data to the
new profile:

Then you can delete the old profile once you are sure the new profile
is OK.

Jupiter I took the liberty of emailing you but will repeat here for the benefit other dinosauers!

Jupiter I followed the knowledge base article & it seems to have worked setting up a new profile. I have imported Contacts, calendar etc (pst). Can I import the Email accounts settings or do I have to set them up again? Office XP2003

One more thing Jupiter.

The “Micahel†folder & now the “Michael†Folder have sub-folders Windows then System but there does not seem to be anything in System. Can I just delete these folders?

Thanks for your help. Michae
