Rename user in Docs & Settings

Jason

I have a new computer that is running XP Home.

My problem is as follows.

When I went thru the setup I changed the user name
from "owner.YOUR-LK4RLMSU41" to my name. It still shows
in windows explorer as the original one. When I try to
rename it I get a message telling me it is a windows
system folder and is required for Windows to run
properly. It can't be moved or renamed.

Any ideas on how I can change the name of this folder?

Thanks

Well.. You could do it, but it's not really worth it.

Rename your user again - to something you don't want.
You could then create a new administrative user with the name you want. That
should, once logged into once, create the directory with the name you want.
Create yet another - temp - admin user.
Log in as the tempo admin user and using the SYSTEM -> Advanced user
profiles section, copy the user profile you USE to the new user profile
folder you want to use, giving proper rights to the new user.
Log out and log in as the new (username you want) user. Make sure
everything is there.

Then you can start deleting the rest.
