Changes to Master Slide

I can not get any of my changes in the master slide to apply in the normal
slide view. I went through the previous questions asked on this issue and
none of the answers seem to apply. I make the change to the footer, save the
master and then click on normal slide view and the "old" information is
retained. Am I missing a step someplace

yes its 2007 - don't have the same problem in 2003

In 2007 slides with the same master layout can have different footers.

Try Insert > header & footer, tick "footer" and type in text > apply to all.
