I changed the setting from "login to business or corporate..." to the one that doesn't have network (within Network settings), and now I can't log into my computer at all. I tried Administrator and many other passwords and user name combos, but nothing seems to work. Is there a way to fix this without re-installing 2000, and would that even work

Thanks

Take it back work and have the network admin add it back to the domain. That
is the only way. When your change it from a domain to a workgroup all domain
logons are removed, hence you can not log on.

requirements to add it back to he domain.

must be physically connected to the network that has the domain controller
must know the local administrator password
when adding it back to the domain you must know a domain admin level
username and password

the last 2 are almost never given out to users. so the network admin will
have to perform this task for you.

Greetings --

By changing the computer from the domain to a workgroup, you have
destroyed the trust between the domain and the machine. In doing so,
you have also rendered any domain login credentials as invalid. You
need to be physically connected to the domain network, you need to
have administrative privileges to the workstation, and you need to
have administrative privileges on the domain. Then you can add the
machine back on to the domain, after having first deleted the
computer's old domain account (unless you've also renamed the
computer).
