Actually, the default configuration of Active Directory under Windows 2003
does permit each end user to edit specific fields of their own record. For
example, logon with an account that is just a domain user and do the
following.
1) Open a command prompt
2) Type: rundll32 dsquery,OpenQueryWindow
3) In the name box, type in the username you just logged on with
4) Select Find Now button
5) In search result window at bottom, right click on entry and select
properties
6) At this point you can look thru the 3 tabs and see what items can be
edited
Outside of that, this question really doesn't belong in an Outlook support
group since it deals with Active Directory/Exchange.

Note: If Outlook 2003/2007 is configured in cached mode, it could take up to
24 hours before that change is seen by the end user in the Global Address
List.
