Change of DVD-ROM require re-activation?

Have a Sony with XP Home installed. No disc, just hidden partition or something.

I would like to change a DVD Player to a DVD-RW which has better specs. Would doing this get me into
a heap of trouble?

If you're referring to the subject line as part of your question, its a big
maybe. If you've never changed any hardware before, don't worry about it.
Its low priority on the activation thing.

That should not trigger a reactivation
