Change language

Peter

Hi

I have just bought a new PC in Portugal running XP Home.

It is in Portuguese and I can't change the UI language to
English. The OS was pre-installed with an OEM number. The
supplier is asking a very high price to change it to
English for me.

Does anybody know how I can get this system running in
English without buying a new licence?

Regards

Windows XP is written in specific language versions, therefore one
cannot change it from one language version to another. You'll need
to purchase a "Full Version" of Windows XP in the language version
you desire, reformat your drive and install it "clean".

Or if you have an available empty drive or partition, you can install
another "Full Version" of Windows XP in a different language version
and create a dual-boot configuration.

A good third-party partitioning program is Partition Magic 8.

Hi Peter

You can't change the language of XP. You will have to purchase another XP
CD. You can then either install the English version over the Portuguese
version, or dual-boot both.
