Change Journal Category name

In Outlook 2003, I created a Category for Journal Entries called
"CatA". I would like to change the Category name to "CatB". Is there
a simple way to change all the Journal Entries falling under "CatA" so
that they now refer to "CatB"? Note that some Journal Entries fall
under more than one Category.

That would depend on the version of Outlook you are using.
A thing that you can do in either version of Outlook is to create and assign
an additional category named CatB. Then change your view so that it is
Grouped By category and then you can use drag and drop to assign the items
with CatA also the CatB category. If you move it to the "No Category" group
first, before moving it to the group CatB, CatA will be removed.

Thanks, Roady. I will give it a try next time I'm in front of the
computer of interest. From the sounds of it, however, I'm wondering
if it works for journals in which each entry can have multiple
categories?

It doesn't matter which items you're working on. I'd like to add one issue,
dragging with the mouse can only add categories, you can't remove one by
dragging the item to the None Categories group.

But once you have grouped by categories, you can easily select all of the
items of one category, right click, choose categorize, and then add and/or
remove categories. That won't affect categories, which are assigned to just
a few of the items.
