Change in registry...consquences??

Edo

Hi all,

because of a problem in microsoft outlook 2003 i searched and found a
solution on microsoft knowledge base.

Unfortunately, i made a little mistake when changing a registry key the
article suggested to.

The instructions told me to delete the key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Protected Storage System Provider

but i also deleted the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Protected Storage System Provider

what will be the consequences of having deleted the latter registry
key? I have experienced none so far, but I would be interested to konw
if there are substantial differences between this key and the one I was
supposed to delete.

Thanks in advance

Anything in HKEY_CURRENT_USER relates to the current user that is logged on.

Anything in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE is machine wide. No matter who is logged on.

If you are the only user, no problem. If you are not the only user, still
no problem.
