Change Destination CD Drive to DVD Drive

I am attempting to copy and write E-mail to my CD Drive,
but the volume of data is too large to write on my CD.

I tried to change and write to my DVD Drive,
but I am not able to access the data to write to my DVD.

I need to continue with the already saved data to be written to my CD
because some of those E-mails disappeared when our electricity blinked
during a thunderstorm.

Question:
1. How can I change the destination drive from my CD Drive to my DVD Drive?
Without re-selecting the data - since some of the data needed
disappeared when the electricity blinked during a thunderstorm?

2. How can I copy the selected data to my CD Drive
when the amount of data exceeds the capacity of the CD?

3. Is there a way to compact the data that has already been selected
and ready to write to a CD?

I need to know how to copy this selected data to a CD or DVD.

Please Help.
Thank You,

I dought e-mail(s) even exist to fill a cd or dvd,cd are good for 700mb,dvd
even more,thats about 100,000 e-mails since e-mail is usually in kb.Thiers
no way to write e-mail thru a cd,it would simply have to be extracted from
the cd to send.If you wanted to save e-mails,Go to file on task bar (with
e-mail
opened),select save as,save to new folder that you created (in my pictures,or
similiar),once collected, move folder to cdrw or dvd.

Thank You, Andrew, for responding to my request.

I failed to state clearly what I was attempting to do with my Outlook
Express 6 E-mail, using Windows XP Home Edition, and Microsoft Office Pro
2003.

To save the E-mail files, one E-mail at a time, will be much too time
consuming.

I was attempting to copy and save a "batch of E-mails with attached
pictures" to a CD, but the selected files are 400 MB over the capacity of the
CD.

Since I have selected the E-mail files to copy, to save, and to write to my
CD,
-- I only want to save these selected E-mails to my CD --
an electrical, thunderstorm caused our lights to blink off for just a few
seconds,
but now many of my "selected E-mails" are missing from my E-mail folder.

So, I cannot go back and re-select those missing E-mails to copy, save, and
write to a different destination -- to my DVD Drive.

Please instruct me . . .

1. "How To" compact those selected "batch of E-mails" with attached
pictures?

Is there a way to "open" these "ready to write" E-mails to delete some
of them
until I have reduced the data volume to fit within the capacity of the CD?

If this is possible, please instruct me how to do this . . .

Or,

2. "How To" copy a segment of my selected and ready to write "batch of
E-mails"
to one CD, and then to switch CD's, and finish writing to a 2nd CD? Or,

3. "How To" change my destination drive from the CD Drive to the DVD Drive
-- after the "batch of E-mails" have been selected and ready to write to
a CD?

Remember, many of those selected E-mails are now missing from my E-mail folder
due to the electrical, thunderstorm, that interrupted our electricity for a
few seconds, my computer restarted, and many E-mails are missing.

Please Help Me write these selected E-mails to the DVD.
Thank You,

Thank You,
I suppose that you are trying to use XP's native CD copying procedure.
If so, you are out of luck because:
1. XP cannot split files between CDs. Instead, you must save files one at
a time until the drive is full.
2. XP cannot write to a DVD of any kind. Instead, you must use a program
such as EasyCD Creator or Nero.

The above programs can quite easily perform the tasks that you described.

Thank You, Jim, for responding to my request for help.

And, thank you, for suggesting Easy Creator and Nero.

I have one follow up question:

Since I have already selected and have "ready files to write" to a CD in
Windows XP,
can I move these selected files to Easy Creator or Nero and burn the files?

Since selecting these files and they are ready to write to a CD,
an electrical storm caused a brief blink in our electrical power and caused
many of these files to disappear from my E-mail folder.

So, I need to be able to move these selected files with attached pictures
that are ready to write to a Windows XP formatted CD Drive - PleXWriter
40/12/40A - to the Easy CD Creator or the Nero CD Burner.

Can I transfer these selected files to Easy CD Creator or the Nero Burner?

An answer to this question is very important to saving these E-mails that
are now missing from my E-mail folder.

Again, thank you, Jim for providing valuable help to my significant problem.
